Sir Alex has announced his retirement from Manchester United, and football has lost the greatest…
Source: dailymotion.comEpic, monumental press conference! GrandissiMOU!
The master of rhetorics has spoken again! No fear at all to frankly speak his mind. I want Mou more than ever to stay!
(by realmadridplay) (Part 2 here)- my translation -
- Iniesta’s statements
“Iniesta is free to say whatever he wants, besides that I think that he should worry about his club, his team-mates and the fact that without Messi his team is such a different team, considering what happened in the CL semi-finals without this great player.- Pepe
“I think its’s easy, very easy to analyse. His problem has a name, and the name is Raphael Varane. There is no other story.- Stay at Madrid?
I plan to continue. I plan to continue.
I feel good, I feel normal. Also, I perfectly understand that the football world is not different from society in general and when society in general is transforming, is moving in directions and principles that are not mine but are based on decisions in society in general, it’s normal that the football world is a consequence of that. And it’s normal that the football world also is a very hypocritical world. But I feel perfectly well and perfectly calm for working.- It’s the coach who decides!
My message for you to understand once and for all is: I am a football coach. They contracted me to be a football coach.
The coach decides who is playing. I choose who is playing. I don’t do that by tossing a coin, with one side deciding that Coentrao is playing, and on the other that it’s Marcelo, or a coin with Xabi Alonso or Modric. I decide by thinking, discussing, analysing, studying my decisions for many hours, watching matches, intending to take my decisions according to MY mind.
I like Diego Lopez more as a goalkeeper than Iker Casillas. It’s simple! I don’t have any personal problem. It’s not a decision taken to prejudice anyone. I like him more! I like a keeper who is playing well with his feet, I like a keeper who is good in the center, I like a keeper who dominated the air, and who is a phenomenon between the goalposts.
I like this profile of a keeper more.
Just as tomorrow Iker could come and say ‘I like a coach like del Bosque more, I like more a coach with another profile, I like more a coach like Pellegrini, I like more a manageable coach like … whoever. I like more a coach who plays more offensive or more defensive than Mourinho.’
It’s his right to say that.!
I as the coach have the right to say ‘I like this goalkeeper more!’ And as long as I am coach at Real Madrid, Diego Lopez will play, under normal circumstances. It’s simple! There is no big story!
People will say ‘Mourinho doesn’t understand football, Casillas is 20 times better than Diego Lopez.’ I understand that. I accept that. But please, respect a coach who decides: There will play Diego Lopez, Nacho, Varane, Albiol and Fabio Coentrao. So you already have the team for tomorrow from no. 1 to 5.
It’s MY decision!. Why will Nacho play? Because I like his development very much.
Varane will play because he only won’t play when I want to give him a break. Because for me he is the future of Real Madrid, Varane and Sergio Ramos are the future of Real Madrid.
Albiol will play because I think he deserves to, he played a great match vs. Atletico Madrid. He’s a player in whom I confide.
Fabio will play because at the moment we don’t have another option because Marcelo is injured. And Diego is playing because for me he’s the best.
It’s simple!
If you or anybody else, madridista, have the legitimation to say ‘coach, you are wrong, Casillas is much better than Lopez’ I will not accept that! But you have to accept that I am the coach of Real Madrid. Full stop.- This season
Look, this season none of the greats of Europe have achieved their objectives. Someone always lost. The big ones have lost at home. If they didn’t lose in the CL, they have lost in the league. If they didn’t lose in the league, they lost in the CL or in the cup. But the big shots Juventus, Inter, Milan, Napoli, Benfica, Porto, Bayern, Dortmund, Chelsea, United, City, Arsenal … all of them have lost home matches.
We didn’t lose in the CL and in the Copa at home, we still have 2 league matches. Are they important? Not so much. Is this a title? No. Is this making me happy? No. But it’s worth the effort to try not to lose vs. Malaga and Ossasuna. I think it’s worthwhile, it would be good for the team. To start into the new season with this confidence at home would be great.
But Malaga is a dangerous opponent, they could win here. And if we don’t play at top level, it will be difficuklt because it’s a very good team.- Alone?
No, I don’t feel betrayed by noone. Friends are forever.
The people who say that I talk on the phone with players from Chelsea and from other previous clubs, or from Galatasaray, Napoli, Inter, Bologna, … I know players from everywhere and I speak with all of them.- Pepe (once again)
I only spoke about Pepe because you asked me. But regarding Pepe … You don’t have to be very intelligent, it’s enough to be a normal person like me and quasi all of the people here, to understand that we are talking about frustration.
It’s not easy for a man of 31, with his status and past to be outpaced by a boy of 19. But that’s life! The boy is fantastic. And who had the courage to use the boy? Me. It’s very simple. Pepe’s life has changed, on the sport level. He was an undisputed starter, then wasn’t anymore.
Also, this is one of my decisions, one of my few decisions, that were not discussed in public. Because almost all of my decisions are being discussed publically: Why is Benzema playing? Why Higuain? Why this, why that.
This particular situation is undisputed. I understand perfectly this frustration. The things he said are very clear for me, I don’t have any problem with him. I understand that it’s not an easy situation but I have at least to try to be honest.
And I think that there are only few people who don’t believe the future of Real Madrid is with Varane and Sergio.- Contracting Diego Lopez earlier?
That’s my fault, I didn’t insist enough. I have asked for him, I didn’t argue, I accepted the argumentation and I wasn’t a coach strong enough or persuasive enough to achieve it.- Missed objectives?
At the beginning of the season I had the same objectives as always: win every match, win each competition.
It’s very difficult to win every competition and it’s impossible to win every match. There are objectives that we didn’t achieve. But we are second in the Liga, reached the CL semi-finals, we won the Supercopa and will play the Copa del Rey final.
It could have been better, it could have been worse. But that’s how it is.- Malaga match
We want to finish second and I keep saying that second is not enough. But it’s the only target we can have. We still need some points. And we have to try to win the match to finish second as soon as we can.
But on the other side there is a very good team, a very, very good team that is coming to create us problems, to play like they always do. They are a good defensive team, but they play very good in attack, especially in counter attack. And we know that if we cannot play the match seriously, idf we cannot play the best possible way, it’s a match we can lose. And it would be a pity to lose a match at home when we 2 more to play, when during the season we were unbeatable at home. So I think without the motivation to be champion, because we cannot be, we have to find motivation in these issues and try to win the match. And it we cannot win, not to lose.”Note: It took me a lot of effort to make this translation. Please reblog or give credit. Enjoy!
